पती पत्नी म्हटले तिथे भांडण येणारच कोणीतरी म्हटलेच आहे 

"भांडत नसले ते नवरा-बायको कसले" असे असले तरी भांडणं हि तात्पुरते असावे मग कारण कोणतेही असो माञ अनेकदा चारिञ्याच्या संशयावरुन भांडणे बघावयास मिळतात आणी ते भांडणे इतके विकोपाला जातात कि त्या दांपत्याचे एकञ राहणेच अशक्य होऊन जाते माञ चारित्र्यावर संशय घेणे हा क्रुरता मानली गेली असुन या आधारे पती पत्नी पासुन किंवा पत्नी पती पासुन वेगळे होऊ शकता ते कसे चला बघुया आपले कायदे या ब्लाँगवर

Sec 13(1) (IA) 

हिंदू विवाह कायदा 1955 चे कलम 13 (1)(IA)

अंतर्गत पती अथवा पत्नी आपल्या आपल्या वैवाहिक जोडीदाराच्या चारित्र्यावर संशय घेत असतील अथवा नेहमीच कोठे जाण्यासाठी प्रतीबंध करत असेल रोक- टोक करत असेल तर असे कृत्य मानसिक प्रताडना (Cruelty) मानले जाईल कारण अशी प्रताडना सुरु असतांना वैवाहिक जिवन जगणे अशक्य होऊन जाते म्हणून Cruelty मानसिक छळ आहे आणी या बेसेसवर घटस्फोट मिळु शकतो 

  ० (Cruelty) क्रूरपणा -

 जेव्हा जीवन, अंग आणि आरोग्यास धोका असतो अशा कोणत्याही प्रकारची मानसिक आणि शारीरिक इजा झाल्यास पती किंवा पत्नी घटस्फोटाचा दावा दाखल करू शकतात मानसिक छळ करून क्रूरतेच्या अमूर्त कृत्यांचा एकाच एका कृत्यावर नव्हे तर घटनांच्या मालिकेवर न्याय दिला जातो.  अन्नास नकार देणे, सतत दुर्दैवी वागणूक आणि हुंडा मिळविण्यासाठी गैरवर्तन, विकृत लैंगिक कृत्य यासारख्या विशिष्ट घटनांमध्ये क्रौर्याचा समावेश आहे.

   ० Cruelty - A spouse can file a divorce case when he / she is subjected to any kind of mental and physical injury that causes danger to life limb and health. The intangible acts of cruelty through mental torture are not judged upon one single act but series of incidents.  Certain instances like the food being denied, continuous ill treatment and abuses to acquire dowry perverse sexual act and such are included under cruelty.

० मा. सर्वोच्च न्यायालय व मा. उच्च न्यायालयाने चारित्र्यावरील संशयाला मानसिक प्रताडना Cruelty च्या आधारावर अनेक घटस्फोटांचे निर्णय दिले आहेत
